Welcome to Year 5

Welcome to Year 5!  We thought we would give you a brief outline of our routines and subjects covered throughout the year.  However, we will always use Dojo to keep you updated. 

 

Your teachers are:

 

Mrs Root – Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

Mrs Watkinson – Thursday and Friday

Mrs Moseley (Teaching Assistant) – all week

 

We will be available via Dojo on the days that we work from 8am to 5pm. However, please feel free to contact us at any time but be mindful that we may not see the messages until the above times.  We are also available before and after school if you need to speak to us personally. 

 

Routines:

 

8.50 – school doors open (children to enter through main KS2 door)

3.30 – children will be dismissed from the side classroom door to parents and carers

 

We provide fruit for morning snack or children may prefer to bring fruit from home. They are also asked to bring a filled water bottle (water only, no juice please) to school each day.  It is their responsibility to take it home each day – although we will remind them!

Homework:

 

Maths:  Handed out on a Wednesday to be brought in no later than the following Tuesday.

Spellings: Handed out on a Thursday ready for the test on the following Thursday.

Reading:  Children will come home with reading diaries.  Homework guidelines are glued inside the front cover. 

 

 

PE Days:

PE lessons will be on Mondays and children should bring their kit to school to change into here. 

 

Swimming – We will be swimming on Wednesday mornings during the Autumn Term.
