What We Have Been Up To This Term
Autumn Term 2
Fireworks & Bonfire Night
Reception have been learning about Fireworks and Bonfire Night. They have learnt about the history behind Bonfire Night and all about fireworks safety. They have made some beautiful pieces of art around the topic and enjoyed firework inspired mark making in the glitter.
Remembrance Day
As part of Remembrance Day, Reception have been learning about why we celebrate Remembrance Day and creating their very own poppies crafts to mark the occasion. Lest we forget.
Nursery Rhyme Week
Reception have taken part in World Nursery Rhyme Week 2020 (https://www.worldnurseryrhymeweek.com/). The children have enjoyed learning different nursery rhymes and applying them to their learning. It's been great to hear the children joining in with the rhymes and acting out the nursery rhymes in our small world role play.
Christmas
It's that time of year again. The children are excited and delighted to create their own Christmas and Winter themed decorations for the classroom and to take home. The classroom and hall is full of festive cheer. The class performance is fully underway. Special visitors are stopping by, as the children eagerly await Christmas Day. Merry Christmas!
